Watercolour and ink painting, continuing my current interest in painting relections! The fields around where I live here in Oxfordshire had been very flooded recently, but in their own way quite beautiful particularly when the light reflected on the surface of the water. Walking past this field (near Broadwell) I saw the red glint of a bullfinch perching on a stem and took a photo which I later decided to make into a painting. I've used lots of wet-in-wet washes and ink for the trees and branches, purposefully keeping it very loose and spontaneous and the bullfinch not too obvious!
