Winter Hawthorns by the Ridge
One of a series of expressive watercolour paintings I have been doing of the Ridgeway ancient path near Wantage in Oxfordshire.
This one shows some Winter hawthorns, some wild flowers and grasses and a distant figure on the track with a little dog running off ahead.
The Ridgeway ancient track is thought to be Britain's oldest road and was known to be used by Roman soldiers and sheep herders alike. Today it is kept mostly free of traffic, is a haven of flora and fauna and enjoys beautiful views across the countryside of Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Actual image size is 10.25'x14.5'mounted in a warm white mount and framed in a distressed cream painted frame outer size 20'x24'.
Available as limited edition giclee print
