This watercolour painting is loosely based on hollyhock flowers in my garden. I have concentrated on the beautiful rose and magenta colours and abstract textures rather than painting a botanical representation. The background has shades of cobalt and indigo merging to give some lovely effects. There is a little oil pastel added here and there. The painting is sold mounted to show the deckle edge of the hand-made paper that it is painted on and has a lovely blue distressed wood frame with glass for protection. It could also be sold un-framed, please contact me for this option.
